IFLA WLIC 2018After years of planning, it is hard to believe that the 83rd World Library and Information Congress (WLIC) is almost over and what a congress it has been! WLIC 2017 did not disappoint and the National Committee Poland delivered an exceptional event in the stunning setting of Centennial Hall.

Over 3000 delegates from 122 countries networked, presented and learned about the contemporary issues concerning the library field. From the spectacular Opening Session, which left many with goose bumps and tingles down their spine, to the exciting real time voting of the IFLA Global Vision discussion in which almost 360 people took part to have their say in uniting the library field, it can safely be said that WLIC2017 offers the library profession world class sessions and opportunities to connect.

Cultural Evening

As always, the Cultural Evening was a huge success and the National Committee Poland organised an unforgettable night full of tradition Polish dancing, talented singing and the popular silent disco that saw WLIC delegates dancing the night away. There must have been a lot of aching feet the next morning but the smiles tell that it was 100% worth it.
