Valparaíso Declaration signed

The Valparaíso Declaration affirming cooperation among parliamentary libraries of Latin America and the Caribbean was signed at the IFLA Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) Section meeting on 15 March 2017.

During the March 2017 IFLA Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) Section meeting in Valparaíso, Chile, the Library of the National Congress of Chile, the Library of Congress of the Argentine Nation and the General Directorate of Documentation, Information and Analysis Services of the House of Representatives of Mexico, signed the Valparaíso Declaration with the President-elect of IFLA, Mrs. Glòria Pérez-Salmerón. 

In the Declaration, the parties committed to strengthening cooperation among parliamentary libraries of Latin America and the Caribbean, and to sharing experiences and knowledge within the framework of parliamentary libraries.  Details can be found here: Original declaration in Spanish | English translation.
