Join us in this interactive webinar, titled “Preventive Measures to Preserve Arabic Manuscripts: Reality and Prospects,” held in collaboration with the National Laboratory for Manuscript and Parchment Preservation and Restoration in Tunisia. 

This webinar is part of a series of events organized by the IFLA Regional Center for Preservation and Conservation (PAC) at the Library. Our goal is to create a professional network of specialists and exchange knowledge and successful experiences toward the preservation of documentary heritage throughout the Arab region.

This webinar includes three lectures by experts from the National Institute of Heritage in Tunisia.

(1) Basic Preventive Measures to Preserve The Manuscript Heritage: Saleh Al-Mahdi Ben Hammouda, Director of the National Laboratory for the Maintenance and Restoration of Manuscripts, Burqada, and expert in the management and preservation of manuscripts and documents

(2) The Building’s Role in Preserving Documentary Heritage: Sahir Ben Garouia, architect and expert in construction dedicated to preserving manuscripts and documents

(3) The Digitization of Arabic Manuscripts: Current and Future Prospects: Wadie Missaoui, heritage preservation specialist overseeing the digitization and data archiving departments

The webinar will be moderated by Maxim Nasra, Book Conservation Specialist at the Library. 

The webinar will be conducted online via Microsoft Teams.
